The most common symptoms associated with testicular cancer are:
  • Testicular enlargement, testicle lump
  • a feeling of heaviness in the scrotum
  • pain in the back or abdominal discomfort.
  • blood in the semen
  • testicular discomfort/pain
  • enlargement or tenderness of the breasts.

It is important to realize that there may be no symptoms or that they may be painless.  Therefore it is essential for physicians to check the testicles as part of his routine physical or as part of a routine health examination performed at school, at camps, at sports physicals.  But most importantly young men should be taught how to perform testicular self-examination (TSE) at a young age.  They should be aware of what their testicles look like normally, so that they can detect changes. Most physicians should encourage men to check their testicles every month.
